It’s amazing how quickly you lose your fitness. This week has been my first with gym visits for nearly a month, and I can’t do as much as I used to.

My legs feel like jelly (that is extraordinarily heavy) after about 25 minutes on the treadmill, whereas a month ago I was doing 40 minutes without too many problems.

It’s more of a cardio thing, I think, as I was able to do almost as much on the weights as I did this time in April, and I’ll hopefully be back up to the old level pretty soon.

It doesn’t help that I’m averaging 5 hours of sleep each night!

Tell me about it! I just got back to running and the gym this week after 3 months off and I’m sooooo sore! But I have managed to make myself workout Mon, Tues and today b/c I hear you’re just supposed to work through the pain…I hope it goes away soon!

Holy shit! Did I just

Holy shit! Did I just lay down and nap in the park for an hour? That was fucking AWESOME!

i did it the other day. i think it actually makes the second half of my day a hell of a lot more productive. of course, the Europeans already know this. the united states needs to evolve from a business culture point of view.

I used to do this when I lived in NYC and the weather was nice.  On my lunch break I’d go to a bench along the Hudson River Park and go to sleep.  It def. made my afternoons more productive.  Now that I don’t live in NYC when I’m feeling especially sleepy (or hungover) I just go home for lunch and nap in my bed.  Either way…it works.  I’m a big advocate for naps:)

Chris Rock on Politics

On John McCain: “We don’t need a president with a bucket list. Who’s going to be his VP? A nurse?”

On Clinton’s experience: “My wife, we’ve been married 10 years, but if she got on stage now, y’all wouldn’t laugh at all.”

On Obama: “We’ve never seen a black man so cool — that wasn’t in the music business…” …and Reverend Wright: “Have you ever met a 75-year-old black man in this country that wasn’t angry? I mean, they have a few reasons.”

On voting: “They don’t want you to vote. If they did, we wouldn’t vote on a Tuesday. In November. You ever throw a party on a Tuesday? No. Because nobody would come.” (via)

Counting Crows were not a band that I thought I would appreciate 10 years later, but “A Long December” is actually a really good karaoke song.

Speaking of Karaoke…we participated in that fun event last night. I literally can’t sing and got conned (was drunk) into singing Tiffany I think We’re Alone Now. I was so bad that my bf felt bad for me and came up to sing with me about a minute into the song…and he can sing, very well so at least he helped to cover up my awful awful voice.

That hardest thing about going out to lunch, sitting outside on the water and enjoying the warm wonderful sunshine…is coming back to work.  My day is shot, my head is somewhere else.  Good thing outside drinks will be had at the Tiki bar after work:)
